Programs

Community Education Program
COA increases the community's knowledge and awareness of issues, ideas, services, needs and facets of the aging process. 

Companion/Caregiver Program
COA provides free matching/referral of screened non-medical in-home helpers.  These helpers assist with cleaning duties, shopping, companionship, and other mescellaneous duties.

Outreach / Emergency Services Program
COA provides safety net care management services to frail elderly in emergency situations.  COA works with the lead agency (Charlotte County Human Services) and other human service agencies to ensure these seniors get the comprehensive resource coordination necessary to achieve independence and quality of life.

Friends Of Seniors Program
COA makes regular telephone calls to seniors who need someone to contact them to ensure safety and provide friendly conversation.

Seniors On The Go Program
COA volunteer drivers provide free transportation to area grocery stores, doctors' offices, pharmacies, and other "neccessity of life" destinations.

S.H.I.N.E. Medicare/Insurance Assistance Program
COA offers trained couseling as part of Florida's network of trained SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) counselors who help elders and their caregivers understand their rights and options concerning MEdicare and other health inusrance issues, including Medicare Part D.
