Driving: Independence or Danger?
We Americans love our cars. It is a sign of independence
and adulthood at age 16 and at 90. Even when driving
can be very difficult. The COA operates our Seniors
On The Go Program. We pride ourselves on helping people
to be able to live on their own by accommodating their
need to get around the county to necessary destinations.
This is a service that is free of charge, but donations
are gladly welcomed. For many, using the SOG program
is a way to maintain their independence. Many seniors
tell us they don't know what they would do without our
drivers. Contact us for a SOG application.

Hurricane season is here...are you ready? The
2007 hurricane forecast now anticipates 17 named storms
forming int he Atlactic basin between June 1 and November

and of those 9, 5 are expected to develop into intense
or major hurricanes (category 3-4-5) with sustained
winds of 111mph or greater. It is important that you
are prepared for a hurricane not when it is about to
