Charlotte County Council On Aging

Golden Solutions

History

In 1977, The Council On Aging (COA) was first proposed by Dr. Robert Shedd, a Punta Gorda physician and Charlotte County Commissioner, as an advisory council for the County Commission.

Mrs.  Rebecca "Neal" Owens served as Chairperson and helped develop many of the programs that continue to serve area seniors today.

Two years later in 1979, the COA was incorporated as a private, non-profit organization.

We continue to serve the senior citizens of Charlotte County by assessing needs and working to find solutions to challenges facing today's senior population.

As long as there are senior citizens in need, the Charlotte County Council On Aging stands ready to help.
