The Golden Years...it is supposed to be a time of cozy retirement, but unfortunately, due to the rise in medical, housing cost and the cost of living on the rise, many see the golden years are anything but enjoyable.  We need to bring awareness to the many challenges facing our seniors.  Americans equate independent lifestyle with quality of life.  Even as we age, the need for independence remains strong.  While there are resources within the community to provide specific services to seniors, Charlotte County Council On Aging brings a variety of programs and services under one umbrella....our Golden Solutions.  The needs of seniors in Charlotte County drive our programs and services.  As a result, our programs and services are not limited to what is provided through government funding, but rather what is guided by the needs of local senior from all walks of life in Charlotte County.  We are not an entitlement program.  We are addressing isolation and keeping people connected to the community as well as meeting some basic needs within a friendly atmosphere geared to serving the seniors with dignity.  Charlotte County Council On Aging takes a couty-wide appreoach to serving the needs of seniors from all walks of life.  COA  exists to assist the citizens of Charlotte County in meeting their social, physical, economic and mobility needs with an emphasis on persons age 60 and over.
